There’s More Than We Will Ever Know

Sometimes, it’s helpful to take a pause to remember that the reality we see every day is only a small glimpse of what’s actually out there. Here’s a few interesting examples:

  • The atom, the building block of all things, is composed of 99.9999999999999% empty space. Therefore, it is possible to think of everything as mostly nothing.
  • Less than 1800 miles beneath your feet lies the center of the earth, a region burning hotter than the sun. Yet its heat never burns your toes (unless you’re near a volcano).
  • The earth is always spinning at the breakneck speed of 1000 miles per hour. Thankfully, our neck doesn’t feel a thing.

After experiencing the same reality so many times, it’s tempting to believe that it’s the only possible point of view. But as these examples show, from different vantage points the world looks quite a bit different. If we simply open our mind to the possibility of there being more than we know, we might just catch a glimpse of the many beautiful wonders, ideas, and possibilities out there.
