Taking a Break From the Screen

Have you ever done a digital detox to take care of your mind? Taking a break from screens and notifications can do wonders for mental recovery and brain health. Does it feel impossible to do for an entire day? If you feel resistance to this, give yourself shorter breaks (maybe an hour) each day to do other non-digital activities, then perhaps build up to a day where you challenge yourself to be 100% screen-free from sunup to sun down.
Remember that self-care is not about comfort. It is about taking the best care possible of yourself, and letting discomfort be a part of the journey. Eventually, being away from screens and notifications will feel more comfortable once the novel tension dissipates. You may even find peace.
