Rest Is Not a Reward

Rest is not a reward—it’s a necessity. We tend to think that in order to rest, we must first work really hard at something, often to the point of burning out. But in reality, rest is never earned. It’s something you will always need to do regardless of how much you strain yourself.

It seems almost deceptively obvious, but resting before you’re tired can prevent exhaustion from ever entering your life. All it takes is a subtle mindset shift, a small act of love for yourself to say: “I’m worthy of rest regardless of what I’ve done or how tired I feel.” Imagine your life from this new perspective, and how refreshed you’d feel every day.
