It’s National Humor Month
What was once just an old adage is now backed up by science—laughter really is the best medicine!
Research has found that laughter facilitates healthy heart rhythm, improves the immune system, reduces the risk of chronic diseases, improves memory, and even lowers cortisol levels (the stress hormone). But most importantly, it just feels darn good. So by lightening up and enjoying a good laugh every once in a while, you’re doing yourself a huge favor.
True laughter bridges divides, breaks the ice, takes the edge off, and brings genuine joy to all of life’s events. It is truly an underrated therapeutic tool. Consider how often you employ humor in your day-to-day, and if you find some room for improvement, go for it!
