Something interesting came up in a couple of my sessions last week. In three different sessions, with three very different reasons for sessions the idea of “practicing grace” came though in each individual session. What was interesting is that although the words were the same the meaning was different for each client. That got me to thinking… What is grace exactly? What meaning to we as individuals, give to the word, grace? And, how does practicing grace benefit us in our work with clients, or our own personal journey? Share below!

Hi, Kate! Love the timing of this question as yesterday I led a short meditation on leadership for a corporate client and one of the affirmations that came forward was “I lead with grace.” I guess if I think about it, grace might refer to the alchemy of gratitude, compassion & peace that we provide ourselves or others during a difficult time. The benefit is perhaps creating a space for forgiveness or gentleness that leads us to heal. Grace is like water that flows over rocks and smooths the rough edges over time.

Thanks for the call to ponder this. I am breathing in grace with a smile now!

I loved learning how you work with grace. It’s amazing how these messages are coming up from us in so many ways. Leading with grace is a beautiful expansion of practicing with grace. Thank you for your reply.

Good question, Kate, so thought provoking. When I use the word “grace” I think I’m usually speaking about gentleness with a twist of forgiveness in the context of mindfulness or mindful living. As in, I can be harsh with my reactions to my own personal shortcomings, but if I’m being mindful I will give myself some grace.
