Do you consider mindfulness and meditation to have different meanings, connotations and/ or practices? If so, how do you differentiate them? I’m curious of everyone’s take on this and think it’s a great way to get this group started!

Not an expert on meditation, at all, so to me mindfulness is the moment to moment practice of slowing my thoughts down, observing rather than reacting, or maybe running my thoughts through the filter of my values VS meditation which feels like a stop-everything-I’m-doing-and-meditate sort of practice. I guess I consider mindfulness a way of being in my day and meditation something I might stop what I’m doing in my day, to do. I wonder how more experienced meditators feel about that?

Hi, Thiera! I appreciate your perspective on how mindfulness is perhaps a moment-to-moment awareness while meditation might be more of an intentional practice carved out at a specific time. Thanks for sharing!
