Introduction to Meditation

This course consists of four sequential 75 minute in person classes (Oct 25th, Nov 1st, Nov 8th, Nov 15th) offered over four consecutive weeks at the Tribe studio located at 1819 W. Belmont Ave in Chicago

Course Outline

Each class includes approximately 40 minutes of instruction, 15 minutes of time throughout for discussion and questions and a 20 minute guided meditation

• Class I: Creating Your Own Space to Meditate will provide you with a general understanding of meditation and the basic tools needed to start your at-home meditation practice.

• Class II:  Me & My Mind will guide you in developing a supportive relationship with your mind through meditation.

• Class III:  Me & My Emotions will aid you in gaining awareness of and processing of your emotions to establish greater wholeness.

• Class IV:   Integration – Connecting the Outer Life with the Inner Experience will guide you in developing awareness of meditation as a holistic tool for integration of your physical, mental, and emotional selves toward greater balance and authenticity.

This course is limited to twelve participants to maintain a relaxed atmosphere and to allow for student discussion and individual questions. A minimum of two students is needed for the class to be held and registration must be completed three hours in advance of the class. Registrants will be notified by e-mail if the course is cancelled due to lack of registration and will be offered a full refund. Also, if instructor must cancel one of the four classes due to emergency or illness, students will be offered the choice of a makeup session for the missed class or a refund for that particular class. To attend classes at the Tribe studio, students must remove shoes upon entry to the studio.
