Enter the Light
After passing the darkest day of the year (the winter solstice—December 21st), the days will continually lengthen until mid-summer, bringing in more light and radiance to the northern hemisphere and all its inhabitants.
Why will the days get longer from here? Not only does the earth revolve around the sun, but it also spins a bit like a spinning top, wobbling back and forth around its central axis at a very slow rate. This “wobble” is responsible for the northern hemisphere being the furthest from the sun in the winter (the darkest), and closer in the summer (the brightest).
Just like the earth, we too revolve around an axis, spinning around a central core and bending to the challenges of new seasons. And like the earth, we will always come back, harnessing our internal light to help ourselves and others grow. Regardless of the adversity or depth of emotion we face, our intrinsic luminosity will always be there, waiting to guide and help us unfold.
